About the school

Ysgol Rowen is a Conwy Valley primary school that provides:

  • Excellent pupil ratios. We offer individually planned learning, not restricted to normal year groups, using the latest pupil centered learning technology. From age 3 onwards children are welcome to join school;
  • Consistently excellent results and a culture of continuous improvement amongst the management team and staff. Our children also excel across the curriculum. Our sports are strong, our Gymnastics team recently won a national competition;
  • A positive and effective approach to discipline and encouragement of a sense of personal responsibility. The school culture is like an extended family and everyone learns to get along. Parents are involved and welcomed. The children get out and about regularly, ideal for inquisitive children. We are frequently commended for their maturity and good behaviour.
  • An emphasis on social responsibility, with active participation in community life. The school has won eco-flag awards, has an outdoor classroom and a productive garden maintained by the pupils. All our pupils, from the very youngest, participate in concerts and performances to the local community.
  • An impressive range of extracurricular activity and out of school care:
    • Linked nursery provision at ‘Cylch Meithrin’ and links to a registered childminder;
